Day Eight of My #SELFIEvaluation - Measuring His Masterpiece Oh boy, this is a BIG one!!   Talking about body types! I say this is a big one because I feel like most of the people in this world are insecure about their body type.  In all honesty, I debated writing a post on this, because I knew that it was too expected, but I told you all at the start of this journey that I was going to share with you things that I love about myself and things that I have been insecure about, so I had to do it.   I do have to say that we have entered into a time where every shape is becoming more and more accepted and celebrated, but that still doesn't mean that the haters aren't hating!  I mean they were body shaming Lady Gaga for a little belly pudge at the Super Bowl halftime show!  C'mon now! Ridiculous! Honestly, I know I'm with so many when I say that I have struggled with this insecurity off and on most of my adult life.  When I was younger I never really did because I was very small, and through high school, I was a cheerleader and that kept me in great shape (because it is a SPORT! Just throwing that out there for all you cheer-haters!) What threw me off track is after I graduated high school, I took a year to work before moving off to college.  During that year I worked at my family's donut shop (Yes, my aunt and uncle owned a Daylight Donuts for a LONG time) because I worked there, of course, I ate donuts ALL THE TIME.  Looking back, I can't believe how many I would eat, not to mention the sausage rolls, and biscuits (homemade by my Uncle) man they were amazing!    During that time I definitely put on the weight, then went off to college which didn't help in the least.  I did become more active my third year there and started dropping some weight and toning up. Now, I try to work out as consistently as possible and eat right (for the most part) but tbh Italian food is my weakness, so put anything Italian in front of me and I will lose my willpower pretty quickly! I do believe, however, in being healthy and taking care of ourselves, because God has given us this temple, and He gives us the choice to take care of it, so we absolutely need to. This #SELFIEvaluation is one that I am still growing in, I will openly admit that there are days that I pick at myself in the mirror, but I am growing each day to love my body for all that it is, if I am healthy and feeling good that is what is most important to me.   Today, I hope that you see yourself as beautiful, I hope that you are challenged to take care of your temple that God has blessed you with.  Mostly, love who you are, love the SHAPE of who you are.  Walk with confidence.  Don't compare yourself to others because Comparison is Catastrophic.   Measure His Masterpiece, not the numbers on the tape! "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."  --1 Corinthians 6:19-20
